Jitter is a significant phenomena at high speed communication lines which strongly affects signal integrity. Therefore it is important to be able to artificially create different types of jitter in order to explore its implications and use it for educational purposes.
In the Verification of the High Speed Channels Phenomena Board gen. 2 project we will research high speed channels phenomena on the gen. 2 board and find the correlation between the measurements, theory and simulation of its available presentable phenomena. In the Artificial Jitter project we will study the high speed channels jitter phenomena and its types, artificially create different types of jitter using Tabor’s Arbitrary Waveform Generator via a Matlab GUI, and present and analyze the different jitter phenomena using the Agilent Infiniium Scope with different methods.
