Spectacles for eyelid analysis

Several diseases can be identified by tracking and analyzing the movement of the eyelids , such as eye diseases,.
There is a need for a system that can gather information about these movements to analyze it.

The goal of the project is to implement a system that manages to track the movement of the eyelids in order to detect diseases

The measurement system is based on magnetic sensors and small magnets attached to the patient’s eyelid’s. As a result of the movements of the eyelid’s the magnetic flow between these sensors and magnets changes. Measuring the values of this flux for a few minutes will enable the collection of information on the movement of the eyelid’s.

The process of transferring information to the user is done through a eyelid WIFI network, the user connects to the network and sends a request to receive this information from the system for a few minutes.

This project relies on previous laboratory projects in which the system was developed, and the purpose of this project is to adapt the system’s cards to a measurement mechanism developed by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, as well as to improve the accuracy of the measurement process.

The system has three basic parts, the first part is the power source that is responsible for providing power to the entire system, such as battery. The second part is the sensors that are responsible for measuring the magnetic flux a result of the movements of the eyelids. The system uses two magnetic sensors to achieve this goal.

The third part is the part of the processor that is responsible for managing the entire system : connect to the WIFI communication, manage the process of initializing the sensors, manage the writing process to the memory, turn on the leads, accept instructions from the external user and send the information (measurements) to the user.
