Power management for IOT device

Improving IOT principle of existing PCB wind sensing system by adding long range communication and independent power supply module.

In this project we relied on existing IOT device. The existing system is PCB wind sensor which has static measuring components. The previous system has short range communication and rechargeable battery which requires recharge frequently. Our goal was to improve the system’s independence and to decrease it’s maintenance. We did that by adding LoRa communication module and power function to the system. The power function uses solar energy, rechargeable Li-ion battery and constant USB supply to the PCB. On sunny days the function supplies power from the solar panel and recharge the battery. When the sunlight isn’t enough the battery supplies power to the system. And when both aren’t enough the device uses the constant USB input.
In this project we worked with Ki-Cad to add the PCB, we choose the components which we think are the most suitable, we implemented all those components and created a library, made an eschema with Ki-Cad and thought how the 3D module of the project will look like.
