This project develops a system that can reduce stress and elevate focus via thermoelectric palates that regulate breathing.
In this world stress is a universal human experience. Stress has many negative physical and mental effects on humans. This project tries to ease the epidemic of stress by creating a breathing guide prototype. The Kumbaaka project was split into two parts: hardware and software. The hardware part of the project focused on finding the right components to satisfy the demands of the breathing guide, and creating a working printed circuit board (PCB). The software part of the project is focused on creating the application that runs the algorithm of the breathing guide prototype. In this project the user can choose the goal rhythm that he wants to reach and how he will reach it by choosing the duration of the breathing exercise, the type of breathing rhythm he wants (fixed or dynamic), the interaction of the palates on his chest and the temperature of the palates. When the breathing exercise ends the application displays a summary of the breathing exercise which is a graph of the HRV (heart rate variability) and HR (heart rate).
