Operational navigation systems are prone to faults and distortions to their navigational creditability due to interference and disruption to their received PPS (Pulse-Per-Second) signal.
This project aspires to create a robust PPS simulation tool in order to enable a reliable test environment for those systems at early development stages.

Pulse-Per-Second (PPS) signals are used for the scheduling and synchronizing of many systems, including GPS-based navigation systems.

Similar to other communications signals, these satellite signals are vulnerable to interference and disruption, such as bad weather. As a result, operational navigation systems are prone to faults and distortions to their navigational creditability.

It is therefore necessary to construct a testing tool that will enable a robust simulation of faulty PPS signals. Such a system may prove to be extremely significant for verification purposes of navigation systems in their early development stages.

This project aspires to erect an accurate PPS generator with various configurable faults for simulation purposes. These faults include excessive or missed pulses, as well as uniformly distributed random offsets applied upon a pure PPS signal. Other useful features include the generation of PPS signals of various frequencies.
