A Smart Home system operated through hand gestures, enabling the manipulation of hardware devices solely with hand movements detected by the system.
Smart Home technology currently depends largely on voice commands, which pose difficulties in noisy settings or for people with speech impairments. Hand-positioning control systems present a viable alternative, offering a different mode of interaction.
The project showcases a prototype Smart Home system that employs the Jetson Nano and essential hardware components. The system is designed primarily for LED control but can be adapted to manage other hardware devices, including televisions and air conditioning units.
Utilizing a straightforward camera setup, the system is capable of detecting hand positions within an image and determining whether to activate a LED. It is designed as a low-power, high-performance system, leveraging advanced AI techniques such as Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and a hand detection algorithm.
