This project is a part of a chain of projects aimed to build a control system for the EE faculty parking lot. The system includes digital displays with counters, LED indicators hanging over parking spaces and a management system to control them using different IoT devices and sensors.
The objective of this work is to create the management program to control the parking lot from afar.
This work will go through the different phases of the development: Analyzing the specifications, creation of a communication protocol for the system, the implementation used for the different modules and the integration between this project and the physical sensors project.
The Electrical Engineering Faculty parking lot in the Technion is crowded and hard to navigate. Finding a parking space consumes precious time, especially in the rush hours. In the coming future, a new parking lot will be connected to the current one, which will make it even more complicated and hard to navigate in. This project is a part of a chain of projects aimed to build a control system for the parking lot that includes digital displays with counters, LED indicators hanging over parking spaces and a management system to control them using different IoT devices and sensors. Each project deals with one aspect of the parking lot control system. This project deals with the management program that will setup and control all the other components of the system. For this project, there are 4 main goals which were defined and fulfilled:• Developing a manager software (GUI) for the system admin that controls and monitors the parking lot and manages the status of all the parking spaces and parking signs.• Developing a customer module for viewing the state to the parking lot.• Creating modules that collect inputs and outputs for each element in the parking lot, virtual or physical, through different modes of operation.• Integrating this project with the physical sensors project.
