IOT – indoor climate monitoring

This project is about gathering temperature information on real time using IoT Technology. The system is capable of monitoring the current temperature in one or more rooms, detect tendencies and warn about them by e-mail or indicating light.

The essential parts of the system is an arm processor in Artik 530 board, TMP 36 temperature sensor and Samsung Cloud account.  The system is capable of monitoring the current temperature in one or more rooms with accuracy of ±0.5 Celsius degrees.  Detection of tendencies happens in the Artik Cloud using rules. The link between the hardware and the cloud is done by node-red application which is installed on Linux Fedora 24 on the Artik board and can be configured in any explorer within the same network.

Setting up the system is very easy, concluding to connecting the board to 5V DC power supply and defining the local wifi network with some easy steps.  The information is being sent and processed automatically in real time without any intervention.

Several warning methods are available, as well as warning e-mail or lighting a led.
